Kilim is of Turkish origin and is a word used to describe a pileless textile produced by one of the several flat weaving techniques. These methods are commonly seen in parts of Turkey, North Africa, Iran, and Pakistan. This woven fabric is traditionally used for rugs or tapestries but "is becoming more popular for handmade cushions, made-to-measure curtains or upholstery."
This small area rug is made from handmade vintage Hemp Kilim. We love and use Kilim a lot and have for quite a while in pillows, rugs and upholstery. Just another case of our Tumbleweed designers being ahead of the trends! White Hemp Kilim with Black stitching.
